Hermione is portrayed during the whole series as an exceptionally talented young witch. Rowling has stated that Hermione is a "borderline genius". Hermione's most prominent features include her prodigious intellect and cleverness. She is levelheaded, book-smart and is very good with logic.

We all know how intelligent Hermione is, even if you haven’t read it. Her brains are legend. She never stops pushing herself to learn more, and her dedication to academia (as well as a host of other things) is phenomenal. Katniss, on the other hand, can be a little slow. I was frustrated at how long it took her to realise that Peeta actually does have feelings for her. She shows a similar slowness throughout the series. This isn’t really to say that she wouldn’t be intelligent, but she lacks the perception Hermione has.

In Mockingjay Katniss receives a bow and arrows from Beetee. They have mechanical properties, and can be voice activated. Although, it is mentioned that Katniss is a skilled knife thrower, she never throws a single knife after she shows her skills to Haymitch and Peeta.
If Katniss can get the jump on Hermione, and gets a killing shot as her first one, she can win. However, if the first shot doesn’t kill or otherwise incapacitate Hermione, the fact that Hermione can spam spells faster than Katniss can shoot means that Katniss is in serious trouble, and probably about to die.
Impervious Charm to slow down/prevent any arrows from hitting.Detection Wards for security (she did this in Deathly Hallows). Disillusionment Charm for extra concealment Reducto for the bow.Transfiguration for creating shelters.Apparition for escape

Hermione always rules.. Her spells are way faster than Katniss' arrows. Would love to see a Katniss Everdeen vs Susan Pevensie; equally matched skills, same weapons - would be a close matchup.
ReplyDeleteInitially when I completed the Hunger games trilogy, Katniss seemed really impressive, I gradually recognized her flaws against a Hermione match up.
